William Bailey Ltd recognises that people are our most valuable asset and their performance is the key to the quality of service we provide. Through investing in our recruitment, training and development of employees we will retain the best possible talent. We adopt the best practice in HR and training and aim to be an employer of choice.
We are committed to providing all internal staff and fitting teams with the correct training to be qualified with the appropriate certification deemed necessary for their role in the workforce.
All staff involved in the Contracts Division have between 10 and 40 years experience in all aspects of Building Services and Maintenance.
All Engineers are fully qualified and trained with appropriate Gas Safe cards along with Health and Safety, CSCS, Site Supervisors SSSTS cards and First Aid Training. Where specialist equipment is used our fitting teams are trained accordingly with the correct certification schemes e.g. Gas Safe (gas), Mobile Elevating Work Platforms i.e. Boom and Scissor Lifts etc.
In addition our Contracts Managers have NEBOSH Health & Safety accreditation and we also have an independent out-sourced Health & Safety Advisor who is on an annual retainer to ensure all our Health & Safety procedures are kept up to date. Our Health & Safety Advisors also attend all of our sites on a regular basis and provide the necessary reporting back to William Bailey management.
It is always our company’s intention to employ a number of apprentices per annum on pipefitting / plumbing / gas courses. All our apprentices are trained to levels NVQ 2 and 3 via the local colleges namely Chesterfield, Derby and Basford Hall, Nottingham. We also have apprentice Junior Engineers working in our office with training undertaken to HNC Building Services standards.
As an employer William Bailey Ltd always ensures that all employees are valued equally and provides the necessary resources and training opportunities to enable our employees to achieve the required skills and knowledge to effectively perform their duties and tasks thus allowing them to develop their potential to meet the Company’s future manpower requirements.
Induction training on the health and safety requirements of the sites is given to all new employees when they commence work for the Company with 100% compliance required. Role / task specific training includes toolbox talks, manual handling, confined spaces, managing contractors and courses with health and safety content essential to carrying out the individuals work.
Annual updates in legislation and procedures generally take the form of internal briefings or workshops undertaken via both internal Contracts Management, Site Supervisors and our external Health & Safety Advisor as required.
A database within our Personnel section holds training records for all employees.
